Today the Nevada Craft Distillery Bill passed the Assembley and will go to Senate. YEEEEEHHHHH!:)

We started to cook the very first batch of BOURBON! YEEEEHHHH!:)

April 1, 2011 – First Drop Day

We distilled the first drop of Nevada Vodka.

Thanks everybody who came and shared the joy of the first distillation.

Thanks Nick (Carl Manufacturing Company) for helping and teaching us, Carus Family for the fantastic cake and Rick, Attila and Tony being part of this adventure.

Thanks Vegas 7, Henderson Press and Fox News for coming out on this day.

It was great to meat Melanie and Bob from Nevada State Bank. They helped us to be able to lease our equipment and open the distillery.

We tried to distill also a little Henderson Wheat Whiskey.:)

The fermentation goes well, we have around 4,000 liter mash. It looks that the yeast has a crazy party time inside the tank because the bubbles in the outside bucket are like a volcano eruption!:)

We started the fermentation 65 hours ago. Will be around 5 days.

The FIRST COOKING DAY!

We cooked 3,000 liter water with 3,000 pound Winnemucca Farm wheat, the first mash for NEVADA VODKA.

We planned for weeks what we will do but we still had a lot of surprises. We learned a lot! The photo diary of this historic day is on our Facebook page.

After 1,025 days from the first idea to open a small artisan distillery, today we got the Nevada State License, the final one of three needed (Federal, Local, State) to start.

Las Vegas Distillery is the first legal distillery in history of Nevada!:)

We are very honored and happy. It was a long way. The Copper Angels are ready to fly!

We would like to THANK YOU for so many very nice people who helped us to make this come true.

We have the Henderson City Local License! Yuuuuuuuhuuuuuuuuuuu!:)

Today we gave the state license application to the Clark County Business Department. They will send it to the Board of Commissioners, who need to sign it. Their next meeting is on March 1st, 2011. We were told that this signed application needs to arrive to Carson City and we would have the Nevada license in days. So let’s start the countdown: 25 more days to open the Distillery! Cheers!
