Jim Morrison
Jim Morrison, the iconic frontman of The Doors, was arrested in Las Vegas on January 28, 1968.
Jim Morrison and a friend, Tom Baker, were in Las Vegas and went to the Pussycat a’ Go-Go, a nightclub. They were reportedly intoxicated and caused a disturbance by engaging in disorderly conduct, which led to an altercation with security personnel. Both Morrison and Baker were arrested and charged with vagrancy, public drunkenness, and failure to possess sufficient identification.

Morrison and Baker spent a night in jail and were released the following day after posting bail.
This arrest added to Jim Morrison's growing reputation as a rebellious and controversial figure. His frequent run-ins with the law and his defiance of societal norms only amplified his status as a countercultural icon. He'd had a history of legal issues and public incidents, the most notable of which was his arrest in Miami in 1969 for allegedly exposing himself during a concert. His confrontations with authority and erratic behavior contributed to his mythos as the “Lizard King,” a symbol of the 1960s counterculture movement.
